My apologies. Why the title to my thread posted and nothing else, I don’t know. In any case, here’s a second try:
I once read that the house in Psycho was a copy of a real home in South Bend, Indiana. The account I saw said that Alfred Hitchcock had seen the house when visiting the city and thought it was the creepiest place he had ever seen. It was further said that the house had long been reputed to be haunted.
My English teacher when I was a junior in high school (1972-1973) was, indisputably, a bright guy. He was also kind of an odd one, and I have since come to suspect that he was a compulsive liar and/or deluded. In any case, he once told my class that when he was attending Notre Dame University (from which he supposedly graduated first in his class), the campus TV station broadcast a film each Halloween which had been shot at a local house that was reputed to be haunted. He said the film showed “weird things” happening, but he never said just what the film appeared to show.
I once read that the SDS chapter in South Bend during the Vietnam era operated out of a house they had picked up cheap on account of its being reputed to be haunted, and therefore hard to sell as a home.
Does anyone know of any house or houses in South Bend, Indiana, which match these descriptions? Can they procide any details about stories connected with the house or houses?
