Thanks, I didn’t know it was Tenerife that prompted a tightening in the takeoff phraseology. For what it’s worth, we don’t say “ready for departure” here, we just say “ready”. There is only one thing you could possibly be ready for.

Yeah, the use of the word “landing” doesn’t seem to be protected in the same way.

Wow, I actually taught Richard Pearse something (completely insignificant) related to flying! This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for me (I’ve never flown anything bigger than a paper airplane – and not even that well) – let me savor it for a minute or two! :slight_smile:
