Yeah, that was a weird brain fart. Thanks for the correction.
I think it somehow seemed more like an Amazon Original than a Netflix Original to me. I think something about the aesthetics - and maybe the lower budget.

In fact, they moved production from Los Angeles (for the first season) to Vancouver (for the second season) to lower the budget.
So, Season 2 is doing pretty well among critics and audiences according to rottentomatoes:
(though 7 critics, at 100% and 80% audience score)
It kind of seems like after a disappointing launch and a failure to meet its goals and properly carry out its mission, the administration lost faith in the leadership of Space Force, drastically cut its budget, and ordered it scale back its more ambitious elements.
The new administration lost faith in the very existence of Space Force. Though not named, the show acknowledges the Biden Administration replacing the Trump Administration. The new administration is of the opinion that Space Force is a crackpot Trump idea but thanks to geriatric patrons in Congress, they are stuck with it. Tim Meadows as the new administration’s Sec. of Defense takes great joy in giving Space Force stupid, unimportant missions and slashing its bloated budget.
I liked season two better than season one. They are taking initially unlikeable characters and making them relatable. The character development strategy is similar to that used in Schitt’s Creek.

Yes, I realize that. I was making a jokey comparison of the fictional situation of Space Force in the show and the situation of the show Space Force in the real world.
I am referring to the show itself, of course.
(But seriously, it did kind of seem like [Netflix] cut the show’s budget and they had to scale back, so they decided to make the whole second season a meta-commentary about it).
