Spaghetti Bolognese Sauce

Try as I may I just can’t get this sauce to taste like it should or rather like the sauce in the local Italian Restaurant.

I’ve tried cook books, on line recipes and it still tastes completely bland compared to the Restaurant. This despite following instructions to the letter

Anyone out there got a fool proof recipe they’d care to give me?

Here’s mine. You can use ground beef or pork if you want to as well.
Turkey Bolognese Sauce
Ingredients:

3 pounds ground turkey
3 onions, minced
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup grated carrots
2-1/4 teaspoons dried basil
3 tablespoons minced jalapeno peppers
1-1/2 cups milk
2-1/4 cups red wine (Merlot works well)
3 (28 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
1-2 tablespoons tomato paste
Directions:

  1. In large saucepan over medium heat, cook turkey, onion, garlic, carrot, basil and jalapeno until turkey is brown. Pour in milk, reduce heat to low, and simmer until reduced by one-third. Stir in wine and reduce again. Pour in tomatoes and tomato paste and simmer 3 hours more.

(Serve with spaghetti and parmesan cheese.)

I’ll bet you the secret ingredient in the restaurant sauce is sugar.

3 pounds of turkey and three large cans of Tomatoes? Are you cooking for an army?

Consider this printed out and thanks a bunch.

You certain I need 3 cans of toms, I’m only cooking for 2. Also 3lbs of meat seems a bit much, I reckon 1lb of beef should do it,

Wolfman I’ve been using sugar, 1 tablespoon as directed
