Did the soapy water taste like Cilantro by any chance?
Well, Olive Garden probably has better spaghetti than Denny’s, Shakey’s, and Sizzler but that’s still not saying much. From my experience, I think Olive Garden is grossly overpriced for the quality of food you get. You can probably find some local mom-and-pop place that has much better pasta at a lower price. For starters, have you ever used Yelp?
I don’t even know what Yelp is, let alone where to buy it in southern Los Angeles County.
I take it you didn’t notice that NDP linked to Yelp. Specifically to a search for Italian restaurants in Los Angeles.
Thanks. I’ll check the link if I can (I’m using my cell phone).
Lomeli’s, Giuliano’s and Olive Garden are on the Yelp list for Torrance. I am familiar with all of them.
They should all be on the list, if anyone’s bothered to review them. It’s the ratings and reviews that you’re looking at, but do not pay Yelp too much heed. It has its uses, but it takes a little practice to separate the wheat from the chaff there. Lots of dumb reviewers who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
And sometimes people either being a jerk or just messing with everyone. I often think that only the people with a bad experience make the effort to Yelp. ymmv, of course
Dear Pot: Yes, I am black. (SIGNED) Kettle.
But whosea gonna makea the sauce!!?
Which would probably explain why you order all your pasta dishes at “Dishwater Giuseppe’s”!
Listen, Buster–if I want a smart-aleck remark I’ll make it myself! Got that?
Dude, can’t you take a joke? Relax, he’s just teasing.
So is he, I think.
This is a great thread, but it needs more Fry & Laurie.
And who are Fry & Laurie? …Sorry, but in this case the “joke” was not obvious.Throughout this thread the prevailing sentiment seems to have been that I didn’t know what I was talking about in the OP.
The two gents in the video are Fry and Laurie. The joke is Italians like to sleep with women.
Hugh Laurie went on to be Dr. House on House. And the other guy, Stephen Fry does a British tv show called QI. But before all that they were friendly comedien gents with their own tv show.
What? I don’t think anyone has restricted their observations to the OP.:dubious:
I’m having trouble getting that dishwater taste to come out in the spaghetti I’m making at home. When I use dishwater, it gets it kind of…well, watery. How can I get that dishwater taste without making things all runny?
Add cilantro
Or dishwater.
