spam breakfast at McDs

That’s pretty darned true!

I grew up near the original location and had one of the current owners speak at my high school commencement, and still I do not know what it stands for. It’s not a reference to the original owner’s name. It’s on a street that starts with an L, but not at an intersection of L-name streets. Google came up short.
As for where else Spam is offered, Wikipedia has this:

Las Vegas is a popular vacation destination for Hawaii people, and about 20 years ago, I had a saimin (noodle soup) and fruit punch (the other McDonald’s regional offerings) while I was there. Checking their menu online, it appears they no longer offer the Hawaii regional options in Vegas. Spam was not added to the McD’s Hawaii menu until 2002, so it may have been too late to make an appearance in Vegas.

I think a lot of people dislike Spam because it’s not cooked or served right. You should think of and use it like bacon - if you sat down to a solid slab of boiled bacon, you probably wouldn’t like bacon. But if you slice it thin, fry it up crispy and serve it with eggs? Now we’re talking!

That said, I think spam is about the only product to make bacon look low-fat and low-salt.

After returning from our honeymoon in Maine and the Canadian maritimes, we bemoaned our fate of not living in a region featuring easy availability of the McLobster Roll. :frowning:
