Spam (?) from internetters.co.uk

I just received this message:

It has an authentic-looking username and password. I’d never heard of the company, let alone registered for an account. The text looks like a typical attempt to make me click on a link, but I’ve Googled for the name and it’s listed on several pages as an apparently legitimate site offering anti-spam filtering and other services.

So what do you think? Safe to ignore? It just creeps me out because it doesn’t seem to fit the typical profile of a spam message.

I got that one. I ignored it. Got one the other day that said something to the effect “We have charged your credit card $348.65 since you are a money launderer and trade child porn. If you want to delete this charge, reply to this email.” I ignored it, too. If I start getting strange charges on my credit card, I’ll let the credit card people know.

Spammers are an industrious lot, they’ll stop at nothing.

Thanks! I’ll rest easy now.

Actually I just noticed my other e-mail account got the same message. It got through the spam filter on both accounts too. Spammers are getting annoyingly smart these days…

www.internetters.co.uk is genuine, the email is not.

It’s a hoax. See http://www.internetters.co.uk/hoax.htm.

Here’s the correct link (you had included the period at the end of the sentence, which gave an error message)
