Short version: Does ID work as an abbreviation in Spanish to mean identity?
Long version: I am transferring an exhibit at work from English into Spanish. I have no knowledge of Spanish, so I am just going off a .txt translation that I have been given to redesign it.
However, the logo is “AvoIDtheft” in English, with a play on the ID in avoid.
I have the Spanish translation as, “EVITE EL ROBO DE IDENTIDAD” which is too long. Is there a play on words in there that would be obvious to a Spanish speaker or a way to abbreviate it? The person that translated it is not available. Thanks for any help!
