Spanish lessons via CD/MP3

So I’m looking at a commute of some 40 minutes, twice a day, to a job with many Hispanic staffers. Seems like a good time to learn what I can of Spanish. Anyone have a good recommendation? Rosetta Stone seemed good to refresh my grade school French, but it is pricey and mostly computer-driven. (Plus French is much less useful in Arizona) I’m looking for something that will allow me to grasp the basics and build a working vocabulary. I’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice at work, some of the staff speak little more English than I do Spanish now.

Thanks in advance, Dopers!

I had a set/course of CDs by Michel Thomas that I found to be a very comfortable and accessible introduction to Spanish - because he approaches it in a way that begins by building on the similarities between English and Spanish.

I didn’t complete the course, because I got all I needed from the first few lessons - which was the ability to pronounce words properly, to function in shops and restaurants, and to ask questions that build further vocab - i.e. “what do you call this?” - from there, I was able to fill in further gaps with Google translate.

I’m not by any means fluent or very confident, but I can get by.

After Michel Thomas move on to pimsleur.
The pimsleur course is much longer and more advanced.

I’ll warn you though that it’s much more like work. MT is funny at times, pimsleur is pure study.
