Actually, cranky, a lot of gunowners agree that the NRA does a lousy job and wastes it’s members’ money and its own influence. Like most large organizations, there’s a lot of internal ‘office politics’ going on there.
There are other more focused gun-rights organizations, but they don’t have the sheer size of the NRA so they tend to be over looked.
