Speaker's First Day of his First Job.

Well, two weeks ago today, I dropped off a resume at one of our 4 local theatres. The next day, I got a call for an interview - Tuesday night. On Wenesday, I got another call - offering me a job. I had a problem - I didn’t have my Social Insurance Number yet.

I got the number this Thursday. I got the call for my first shift yesterday - today from 11 to 5. I had everything ready - but my shoes were too small (I need 13 men’s, narrow fit). They were size 11 or 12, and narrow enough. Probblem was the length - they were too short, so my big toes were crushed all day. I was quite glad to get them off when I got home.

I started in the concession (where I’ll be for at least a few weeks, most likely more), learning the basics - the size of my float, how to unlock the till and drink machines, how to make popcorn, operation of said till. My two co-workers, Maggie and Tue Whyn (spelling of Tue’s name is probably wrong), helped me for a while, but eventually I was mostly left on my own. Maggie… she was beautiful - blond hair pulled back, almost as tall as me, delicate fingers, a face to die for… Most of my time spent there was cleaning up theatres (an interesting, regimented job), cleaning the concession stand (an oily, back straining job), minding the till (a better, interesting job - I even saw my grade 7-8 teacher!), and oogling Maggie (a funfilled job ;)).

All in all, pretty good.

I remember my first job. Food Basics… :frowning:
Now I’m re-applying to work there again. Good times.
