When my high school crush went to University in 1975, she was on the meal plan, with the concession held by an institutional food supplier that owned a lot of restaurant chains. And she, along with a LOT of her fellow freshmen, actually GOT scurvy. This was before HIPAA, so the doctor didn’t hesitate to share the fact with her.

I think that Ken Jennings has admitted that after awhile, he ran out of anecdotes and just made things up.
