Special Veteran's Day Feud by SSG Schwartz [Game Over]

US Military-related questions

DO NOT READ THIS THREAD BEFORE YOU POST YOUR ANSWERS

Object of the game: Try to think of the most popular answer, to get the most people matching you. Google is allowed, if you desire. Only answers that are “serious” will be scored. Joke answers will not be considered, as it is not fair to other players.

Scoring - Any answer duplicated by anyone else is worth 100 points divided by the number of entrants. For example: 50 entrant game = 2 pts per answer. If 4 people match that means they each get 8 pts for that answer. No matches = 0 points.

If any of you have ideas for Feuds -and would like me to score them- PM me and I’ll get you on The List.

FORMATTING OF ANSWERS IS IMPORTANT!

Write your answers like this; Do not repeat the questions, no periods at the end of answers, no spaces between lines, no comments, no fancy list coding. If you need to comment or clarify your answers, do it AFTER the list of answers. Thanks.
JUST LIKE THIS:

1. answer <<—There is a space after the period!
2. response
3. rejoinder

The game will end either when we have 50 entrants, or at 4:00 PM Central on Wednesday, 11/12/08 whichever comes first.

Good luck!
Happy Veteran’s Day! Thanks to all who serve or have served.

  11. Yeah, he was commissioned, eventually. But he started out as a grunt. It’s him or Ernest Borgnine, and I don’t think Ernest is going to get that many votes.
  12. I know this is not a technically correct answer to the question. Seeger had a national voice before his service, and ended up doing most of his service as an entertainer. But he’s the only singer I can think of who is also a vet. If I knew more singers I’d have a better shot at this question.
  13. Among many, many others. I don’t want to try to list them all, because I know I’ll flub them up. I’m just going with our SSG, because his name is on the Feud.
  14. I just like the name. I can’t explain why.
  15. You’ll note: I’m leaving off the hull number. I’m hoping that those who don’t think of the first nuke carrier will still think of the most decorated ship in USN history. (CVN 65 and CV 6. respectively.)
