Species Crossbreeding Question

I’m sure this has been asked but I can’t come up with a concise enough way to search for it.

Are there examples of a chain where A can interbreed with B and B with C but A can not interbreed with C? I don’t care if it’s via artificial insemination or not. All the examples I can find are more or less a cluster of interbreeding species such as all four members of Panthera being able to produce offspring or Dogs/Wolves/Coyotes.

Most cases where it looks promising, the A-C breakdown isn’t explicitly mentioned. For example, the Wiki on ursine hybrids says there was a reported black/brown bear hybrid in the 1850’s (not that that’s great to hang my hat on) and that brown bears can interbreed with polar bears but doesn’t mention any attempt between black & polar bears at all.

It sounds like you’re looking for Ring Species. Here’s an example with California’s salamanders.

Thank you. At least now I know what term to be looking for.

Edit: It sounds as though a ring species would fit my question although not every example that suits me would have to be a ring species (i.e. the two “ends” don’t have to share a habitat and could live on opposite ends of the earth for all care). But again, at least I have a start now which is great.

They would still be referred to as a ring species, even in this case.
