This is either a General Question or a matter of opinion.
I hazily recall from my religious studies that there is a term for explaining or making clear the inner meaning of scripture or holy text. It carries connotations of sharing one’s insight or knowledge and making the complex more accessible.
I might be thinking of the word “explicate,” or "elucidate,"as that’s all I can come up with off the top of my head, but I don’t think so. I think it was a specific “term of art” with religious implications.
Not “illuminating” …it’s hiding somewhere in my brain, I swear.
