Spectrum-Related Question

Hey,
I just wanted to know that if a beam of dichromatic yellow light (That is to say, yellow light formed of green and red light) is passed through a yellow filter does the red and green get blocked out separately or do they pass through freely as yellow light?
Thanks,

Depends on the filter - a narrow bandpass interference filter will block the red and green, whereas a typical dye filter will probably pass them both and just block wavelengths shorter than bluegreen. Look at a spectral transmission curve for the filter.
