I saw this T- shirt at Wal Mart today. I wonder how many they’ve sold.
Can’t add attachment, here is what it said:
Dads know alot
Grandpas know everything

Alot, I’d bet. But it’s alright, ma, I’m only dying.
Hey, at least they didn’t spell “Dads” and “Grandpas” with apostrophes.
And, well, …, oh, what the hell. Here’s that Hyperbole And A Half link again.
At least the shirt doesn’t say
Dad’s know alot…
The shirt should read
Spellcheck, isle nein!
Alot look a lot like sehlat.
I totally bought that shirt for my dad for father’s day. Because it’s only $4.94, and I doubt he will care about the mis-spelling. But it totally made me think of the SDMB
(and whatever web comic it was that also hates “alot”)
Here’s another Walmartian T-shirt fail. At least it’s spelled right…
Shouldn’t that be “spielcheck”? Damn, I wish they’d get the “quote” problem ironed out.
Dads know alot
Grandpas know everything
Presumably, if we accept this as factual, a dad, but not a grandpa, designed/wrote this t-shirt. (A grandpa would have known to say, “a lot”.)
“Grandpas” is actually from the French grand pas meaning “large stride”, and therefore by extension “Bigfoot”.
Dad might know alot but alots are very afraid of Bigfoot.
