Spend my $15 iTunes card

Someone gave me a $15 itunes card. I was wondering what to buy. I was contemplating the new U2 album. Then I thought of you guys.

It could be ill-advised  but I will trust your judgement.

I will purchase the 1st 15 songs suggested. One per Doper. Realize you will be spending something of value of mine, so please make an attempt to be serious.

Also, include why the song is important to you.

Peace!

Jayson

Wow, this could be fun!

BT, Force of Gravity on Emotional Technology
-At 5:42, the song just kind of spins through your head. It’s really cool to experience it travel from one side of your head to the other.

Have fun!

“Out of Bounds”, by Amanda Marshall, from the Album ‘Tuesday’s child’

Let’s see, just a great sad song about forbidden fruit, with good vocals and a rockin’ instrumental break.

Gypsy March by Grand Ole Party

It’s my favorite song by a band I discovered at last year’s Bonnaroo, which I attended with one of my best friends.

“Ghosts” by Laura Marling. I don’t actually know much about the artist on the whole (other than that she’s British and quite young), but this song is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking I’ve ever heard. It’s terrific and totally unfortgettable; short and bittersweet.

I’m going to go with a one-hit wonder classic rock song that’s really just too cool to forget about:

Ten Years After “I’d Love to Change the World”

“The Ship Song” - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds if you fancy poignancy. I adore the refrain “Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down”. It’s a lovely song.

I have TWO iTunes $15 cards! Keep 'em coming!

I have downloaded them all to this point in the thread. I am now listening to **lunar elf’s **Force of Gravity song. I have never been a techno fan, but this is interesting.

“Staring at the Sun” by TV on the Radio

It is GREAT for blaring loudly in the car while driving

Clarity (Single, not the album. But the album is wonderful) by Jimmy Eat World. Song is awesome. Hope you enjoy it, let us know.

Incase you just want to listen to this entire album, and I suggest everyone here to do so, you can go online here to do it. The album is also called Clarity.

“A Beautiful Mess” by Jason Mraz from his We Sing. We Dance. We Steal things EP. It’s my favorite song off of that album. He is a singer/songwriter with a guitar but he has one of the smoothest, nicest voices I ever heard. And he’s just that good live. In fact, his live stuff is 100 percent better than any of his full band, and the song I told you about is just him in his guitar.

Actually, an acoustic version of “You and I Both” is my favorite song in the world, followed closely by “Sleeping to Dream.” Acoustic version also.

My sn is from the lyrics from the song Table for Glasses. I had a big Jimmy Eat World phase when I was in high school, saw em live twice.

“Swedish Wedding March” by Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire.

– it’s instrumental, and sounds like old gypsy music, all creepy and medieval. I love love love it, and it’s just a taste of Andrew Bird, whose style doesn’t really fit in one particular genre. Very unique. The album that this is on, Thrills, is excellent and sounds nothing like most of his other albums. I was torn between suggesting this song and “Pathetique” (off the same album), just FYI.

PS - just noticed when viewing the song list for Andrew Bird’s album Thrills, that the title for song “Cock O’ the Walk” is listed as “C**k O’ the Walk.”

Come on, iTunes! Seriously?!

(sorry for double-post)

We live in Mechanicsville, VA where Jason is from. My wife went to high school with him and now works withhis sister. Cool huh?

I will download more tonight. My expert critical commentary to follow.

Flight of the Conchords - Business Time.

R…really?

OMG I kinda know Jason Mraz by proxy!

Either

“Dil Kya Kare” or the title song from the Bollywood movie “Salaam-E-Ishq”.

The reason I pick both of these songs is twofold. One, both of them are nice, easy-listening, with a nice singer, and fairly Westernized in their sound. Two, my SO, who generally doesn’t like Hindi music and ignores most of it, likes these a lot, so you may like them as well.

Dil Kya Kare is quieter, Salaam-E-Ishq is a bit more lively.
