Will Petey stay dead? I vote no.
He’s a comic book character. How can there even be any doubt? Even the characters who Absolutely Positively Must Stay Dead and That’s Final don’t stay dead.
He’ll be back. Spidey is too popular to stay dead for long. Though I do wish he’d stay dead. It’d have an interesting effect on the marvel universe.
If he’s not going to stay dead, they shouldn’t have killed him in the first place. Every time they do this, they further destroy their ability to write a death that actually matters to their audience.
Technically, IIRC, that one issue doesn’t say he’s dead yet; it cuts away from the hospital room before it’s completely resolved. Given that, I thought that an eventual switchback was a given.
It’s already been hinted that Peter is stuck in there but with Otto in the driver’s seat. Basically the ending of Being John Malkovich.
So it seems they have left a back door to bring back Parker.
On another note, anyone understand the second story in the issue? It made no sense to me.
They’ll presumably clear it up before Andrew Garfield’s next outing as Spidey.
