The author will be on Anderson cooper’s show tonight. I found his book to be very readable and fascinating. Very interested in hearing what he thinks of the pandemic.

I read it. Excellent book, and not difficult to read either even though it’s big.
I enjoyed that book so much I read it twice. Quite interesting.
thank you, Colibri, I haven’t started a thread in years.
the interview was very good, and informative.
David Quammen’s an excellent writer, and Spillover is every bit as good as others have said in this thread.
And of course, right now it’s yet one more refutation of the “no one could have foreseen” bullshit. Lots of people could see this coming. Spillover was far from the only book written for laypersons about this subject in the past decade.
Going off-topic, if you haven’t read Quammen’s The Song of the Dodo, pick that one up next. It’s not a slim book, but I read through it in four days when I first checked it out of the library when it first came out back in the mid-90s, because I simply couldn’t put it down. Then I bought a copy so I could read it again, more slowly this time.
