Does anyone know what product/technique to use to splice together exposed, unprocessed film so that it can be put through the bath at the lab? My friend wants to shoot some time lapse footage with a Nikon for which he has an intervalometer and film magazine. The film he has is Kodak 5218, it’s cinema film with an anti-halation backing which only a professional cinema lab can process. The labs he has contacted will process a test for him, but will not deal with amounts less than 100 feet. The magazine for the Nikon can only hold about 33 feet, meaning he must find a way to safely splice it together after shooting it. Access to a darkroom is no problem… any thoughts?
