Ah, I was thinking there might be some little check box to make the html you did work the same way as the url tags, e.g. a “parse forward / backward?” option.
That would be cool, but I know of nothing. I do know how it could be done, but only via php coding.
There is an alternate way to do spoiler hiding that a vBulletin developer pointed me too, but it is not nearly as nice as this way would have been - had it worked without problems.
I wonder how many unseen consequences of this new tag there already are? Tretiak and I believe many other have used it in jest long before it became the real thing as in the 1st post for this thread.
Neat concept though, and good idea Tretiak. I like new toys and look forward to the day I can use it.

But, but…but, Arnold I don’t have any “small,unmarked bills”.

Can’t we like…you know, come up with some other arrangements?

AAAAHHHH.
I like the spolier box. Very cool. Hopefully it goes live.
isn’t {spoiler} {/spoiler} the customary “fake tag” to use with a spoiler? perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to create a tag by the same name that you don’t want people to use. it seems to me that a lot of people will use it unwittingly, not even knowing that a real tag exists.
Though I think I see your point, abuse angel, I for one think the presence of existing uses of the proposed tag just argues more strongly for it. Think of all the existing posts that suddenly will have this new feature. It’s like re-writing history!
If SDMB ever adds sound support, I nominate [Homer] as the first tag to be backed up with real sounds!
Can’t get it to work in this version of vB, folks.
Sorry.
