Spoilers

Here I go again with probably yet another dumb question, but can someone explain to me what the “spoiler” thing is that I see in some people’s posts? What do they mean, and do they actually do anything? Also how do you put them in, (not that I’d probably want to. Just curious, is all!)

Ah, spoilers…

On the one hand, they ruin movie plots, etc.

On the other hand they make your car look oh-so-cool!

You mean the spoiler tags, like this?

The butler did it

You can include one in your post by writing:

[ spoiler ]The butler did it [/ spoiler]

Without the spaces inside the brackets.

You use it when you want to mention, say, the ending of a movie but warn people who haven’t seen the movie that they may not want to read it. If you decide to read it, you just highlight the section by dragging the mouse cursor across the spoiler section.

Hehehe Stan Doubt! I certainly agree they enhance a car’s appearance! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thankyou scr4. That’s so cool! now sifts through all the posts containing spoiler tags

“Spoiler” boxes hide information others may not wish to read. They print black text on a black background.

There are two ways to read them:
You can click-drag your mouse across the box to highlight the text inside, or
You can double-click inside the box, as long as you do it in a spot where text is hidden.

Try it on the box below:

You enter a spoiler box using the “spoiler” and “/spoiler” UBB tags.

Thanks, also to you, aktep, but I can’t see the “spoiler” and “/spoiler” UBB tags?!

I think we should close this thread soon.

Before everyone tries their hand at it, and makes it really boring and worth no ones time anymore. Wait, kinda like me and right now

Meeko, if I knew where the “spoiler” thing-ummy was I would post to you - “So, what’s your problem?” I was actually asking a genuine question. G’nite from me and thanks for your positive input (NOT!)

wendyrules, look in the “About This Message Board” forum, and click on “FAQ-Technical Issues”. In this FAQ, there is a post by Arnold Winklereid’ that has a link to the vB coding page. This coding page will tell you how to do all kinds of cool stuff, including spoilers.

norinew, thank you so much. I will indeed do that, but in my daylight hours… 'tis late for me - but once again thank you and indeed I will!
