Spoooooooon! (The Tick on DVD)

Pass. Too expensive, incomplete, single season.

There’s something deeply wrong in the world when shows like The Tick and Twin Peaks languish in DVD limbo year after year, yet I could go out today and buy the first season of Gimme a Break! and the first two seasons of The Facts of Life.

One the one hand, I am happy that I will have 12 of the episodes from season 1 in dvd quality. On the other, I am unhappy that I will not have all 13 of them.

Commerce is a harsh mistress!

Do me a favor, willya? Transfer your Alien Nation tapes, stat.

Alien Nation is already out on DVD:

“due to creative considerations”

i guess Honesty Cola has a problem with unauthorized usage of images of their spokesmodel…

Corporate America, I say to you, STOP BEING BAD!..
If you guys are selling insurance, we don’t want any…
No Tick, we’re with the Government…
…hmm, no thanks, we’ve got all the government we need…

I wonder who wrote that episode. Hmm.

Christopher McCullouch. You can find anything on the Internet!

I thought that was one of his but… while the episode info page lists him as a writer, his own personal info page doesn’t list it as one of the Tick episodes her wrote.

I wonder if “creative considerations” means nothing more than they couldn’t fit all 13 episodes onto one disc so they just had to pick one to leave off.

As a nitpick, in the original article why do they say that Mickey Dolenz was “quickly replaced” by Rob Paulsen? Dolenz did Arthur for the entire first season. And, IMO, did it much better. Its not that Paulsen was particularly bad or anything, but he does so much voice work that his voice has become “generic cartoon guy”. Dolenz’s voice was so unique that he made Arthur a totally original character.

"I Arthur I Arthur I Arthur…"

Just a note that the Tick vs Season One DVD is out TODAY (Aug 29).

POlease buy a copy (or 2) to insure seasons 2 and 3.

Rumor has it that the problem with “The Tick vs The Mole-Men” is that Mole-Men is trademarked by Marvel or something (I have no idea if this is true, just waht I heard)

“Evildoers - preapre to eat justice!”

Only most of season 1? I’ve got too many DVD’s on my wish list, I may have to wait and see if they put out a complete set someday.

Eating kittens is wrong.

I will be in cartoon heaven the day that happens. CARTOON HEAVEN.

If you haven’t picked up the DVD yet (I haven’t - wanted to make sure I didn’t win a contest for a free copy, will be ordering it soon), just thought I’d bention that season 2 is “coming Soon”
