Sports fans: are there game replays/video recaps that you've watched many times?

As a long time Missouri Tigers hater, I enjoy watching UCLA’s Tyus Edney drive the length of the court for a buzzer beater in the '95 NCAA tournament.

Depending on the version it can be quite long, but the 2004 Red Sox ALCS comeback win over the Yankees, down 3-0. It starts with Dave Roberts stealing second in the 9th inning of Game 4, and that game is fun to watch, but I’ve watched the whole set of 4 game highlights many times.

The Giants and the 2007 NFL playoffs. Mostly the Superbowl with the helmet catch and the freezing game in Green Bay when Tom Coughlin’s face almost froze off while Eli and Plaxico undressed Al Harris all game long with the back shoulder fade. I also rewatch that Cowboys game in the divisional round, although not as much because it’s not as iconic. Still very satisfying as a Giants fan, though!

Sadly, all of these rewatches for me have been via VHS tape in standard def. It kills me that NFL+ Premium only goes back to 2009. That reason alone is why my 2011 playoff run rewatches are slowly starting to catch up to my 2007 rewatches.

Good one.

NFL is bad about linking. It’s viewable at Youtube, if someone hadn’t seen it a half dozen times before.

This game from a couple of seasons ago…

Just an astonishing end to a riveting match.

And the local radio commentary… spine tingling stuff at the end.

I’ve watched that entire game multiple times- except for the bottom of the 8th inning. Still can’t bring myself to watch that again.

I like watching the 1974 NCAA Basketball semi-final game when NC State ended UCLA’s championship streak. I missed it in 1974, and I was sick and tired of watching UCLA win every year.

Also watching the replay of Super Bowl III has shown that the Colts may have scored a touchdown on their first possession. A receiver caught the ball and was pulled down, but it looks like he landed on the Jets player and never touched the ground. Then he sprang up and ran into the end zone, but the ref blew the whistle as soon as he went down.

The Cubs/Phillies 23-22 game. It’s been a common replay going back to Classic Sports Network in the 1990s

Living in Chicago, it was common to see this broadcast on Christmas Day as filler programming or else as off season programming.

Living in Kentucky, but not being a native, I like to randomly send my University of Kentucky friends Christian Laettner’s shot that propelled Duke over the Wildcats.

They normally don’t talk to me for a few days afterwards.

Saints 2010 Super Bowl victory. I’ve been a devout Saints fan since the 1980s.

As a Giants fan, I was happy to see Jeremy Shockey catch a touchdown in that Superbowl. (He went down for the season halfway through the 2007 season.)

My favorite NFL team: The Philly Special, Super Bowl LII

My favorite MLB Team: Last three outs, 2016 Cubs

I admit, I’ve watched that play multiple times. The way Foles sold that play was beautiful.

Not to armchair quarterback, but I’ve always wondered why the Patriots defense didn’t sniff out that play sooner. I have never seen any play in which a QB wanders over as far as the right tackle pre-snap and stays there for a meaningful time that didn’t involve some wild trickery.

I think most of the defense is focused on their assignment. You maybe have a spy on Foles, but that would just be one guy. Even if you sniffed it out in time, would you be able to adjust?

I suspect there wasn’t a spy on him, though, because you wouldn’t expect the old backup QB to be put in that sort of position. That’s a reason why he got so open in the first place.

Just a WAG.

And now I’m going to go watch that play again.

I think they expected trickery, and when the wildcat snap then led to a reverse, Foles seemed like a decoy. Who knew a pass was coming! So awesome.

But really, that entire game 7 was so surreal, Cavs beating the best team ever for their only championship
