Spotting Star Trek actors in other programs

Outstanding, Icarus!

I remember Shatner playing a psycho killer from the USA on a Canadian police procedural called The Professionals back in the '70s.

One line that stuck in my mind came when he was taunting the leader of the CSI unit, who was named “Brewer”:

‘Brewer!’ Ha-ha! You shoulda stuck to makin’ beer!

Shatner was in a short career-counseling film I saw in middle school. It must’ve been filmed within a year or two of the end of ST:TOS. I don’t remember much about it, except that he was good in it.

He looks and sounds very good for ninety.

That struck me too. He really does come off as 20 years younger.

Nanites?

Anthony Caruso, Bella Oxymyx from “A Piece of the Action”. played Cortez in the “Time Tunnel” episode, “The Golden Mask”.

Nevermind

The gremlin on the wing Shatner saw was in “Nightmare at 20,000 feet”. Let’s hope he doesn’t see one on Blue Origin, but he might mention it.
The other Twilight Zone episode he starred in was “Nick of Time.”

That would be the best thing!

Yes, that would be extremely cool.
“Hey did you guys see something out there?”

I know I’m replying to a nearly three year old post, but I have been re-watching Warehouse 13 and I did a search to make sure mine hasn’t been mentioned yet.

I just watched the episode where Kate Mulgrew shows up, which I see has already been mentioned (Interestingly, her character’s name is Jane on Warehouse 13 after playing Captain Janeway on Voyager).

However, you failed to mention Jeri Ryan playing Pete’s ex in a couple of episodes.

Apparently I haven’t gotten to the episode with Brent Spiner yet.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper, Shatner said, “I’m going to prees my nose against that plastic window…what I don’t want to see is someone looking in at me.”

That may be edited out of this interview. https://www.cnn.com/videos/tech/2021/10/06/william-shatner-space-flight-acfc-full-episode-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/acfc-full-episodes/

There’s a new, officious Head Of Doctor Stuff on the show New Amsterdam. Kind of middle-aged and wrinkly, but that didn’t stop me from blurting out “Hey, it’s Ensign Ro!”

.

“… and everyone can see her!”

(but none of my family knew what I was talking about, or cared)

Oh, you mean Commander Cain?

Kinda cheating in a way, but MeTV sent me a news blurb that “Spectre of the Gun” wasn’t DeForest Kelley’s first time acting out the gunfight at O.K. Corral, but the third. He was Ike Clanton in an episode of “You Are There” (1955), and Morgan Earp in Gunfight at O.K. Corral (1957). He played Tom McLaury in the Star Trek version. Wikipedia says he played villains for nine years, and was afraid of being typecast so he spent a couple of years doing other roles, eventually settling on a doctor role and – getting typecast.

Cool!

Robert Walker, Charlie X in a TOS episode, played the title role in The Time Tunnel episode, Billy the Kid.

I was fifteen minutes into TT, “who IS that guy?”

Bela Okmyx of “A Piece of the Action”, Anthony Caruso again, in the “Wagon Train” episode, “The Traitor”.

Not an actor, but a costume: Korob in “Catspaw” not only took the location and feel of scary Earth from Kirk’s thoughts, but apparently Kirk was watching a season 3 episode of Gilligan’s Island, “Lovey’s Secret Admirer”, just prior to heading down to the planet, and Korob wore the robe of the Fairy Godfather (played by Gilligan in Mrs Howell’s dream sequence).

It popped up everywhere in the news feeds but here’s one with both pictures.
