Just saw, er, heard Stephen Root once more, voicing Dr. Elias Brandyworth in the Amazon Prime superhero cartoon Invincible.
I’m sure they’ve already been mentioned somewhere else upthread, but I started watching “The Outer Limits” on the Roku recently, and after only a dozen or so episodes I’ve noticed just about every episode has someone that was later in Star Trek.
“Hey, it’s Apollo!”
“Hey, it’s the Captain’s woman from the mirror universe!”
“Hey, it’s the rich guy who was cryogenically frozen!”
“Hey, it’s the space station director from Trouble with Tribbles!”
“Hey it’s that Founder lady!”
etc etc.
“Old Man” Ian Wolfe as “Stiles” in Foreign Correspondent (1940).
Ricardo Montalban as a suave but evil LA tycoon in The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
Twister was showing on the big screen of a bar I recently happened to be in, and behold, there was a young Alan Ruck as part of Bill Paxton’s plucky crew of storm chasers. I didn’t remember him from the movie at all.
Just saw Dakin “Hey, it’s that guy!” Matthews in a recent episode of The Gilded Age as a Manhattan plutocrat married to a much younger woman with a rather scandalous past.
Well, now, lookie here!
Meow!
Edit: Nothing dirty, but possibly NSFW for some people.
That’s contortionist April Tatro, aka “Isis.” I would never mistake that face for Victoria Vetri’s.
And who just this past Friday celebrated (or didn’t) her 82nd birthday. And, about Isis. . .
Many years ago, and for a long time Barbara Babcock was listed as Isis in human form. That was apparently printed in one of the books about Star Trek (but I’d have to look back to see which one). Possibly the writer erred or was confused since the “Meow” was supposedly voiced by Babcock. Personally, I see an even more remote likeness between Babcock and Isis than Vetri and Isis, but at least she does seem to have the same colored eyes. I’ll go on faith that that credit was supplied by someone who had access to some production notes, as currently the Star Trek cast list is pretty extensive with regard to uncredited characters. And having said that, the first time I ever heard that “Meow” as an adult, I thought it sounded just like Teri Garr, but if she did, we’ll never know since she doesn’t appear to be interested in talking about the experience.
And in conclusion, if anyone’s interested, the above pics came from an episode of “Laugh-In,” where she appeared in a couple of different scenes, but was never identified by name.
David Opatoshu, Anan 7 in TOS “A Taste of Armageddon” played Mr. Jacobi in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1966 spy film, “Torn Curtain”.
Just saw this guy as the Joker’s quirky, fedora-wearing sidekick Bob in the 1989 Batman.
