Sprayed by a skunk!

The same scientist suggest that you trap the animal in a Havahart (have a heart, get it) trap and use peanut butter. These traps are safe and humane. After you catch him, walk up to the trap holding a blanket up in front of you, then throw it over the trap. wrap it up and place it in your car and drive him to the house of someone you have an let the sucker go in their back yard.

Actually, I would trap the skunk and then shoot him from the front. If he sprays on your blanket, you are going to have a big mess and you are not going ot want to put the skunk in your car. Then what do you do?

There was a product sold especially to dispatch skunks. Don’t know what it was called but you loaded a syringe with it and taped the plunger to a long stick. Walk up to the skunk and inject him in the chest.Sounds simple if the skunk is willing.
I think that I would livetrap him and throw a piece of dry ice under the blanket with him.
simple humane all of the good things

Just curious; why would you kill a skunk just for living near you? Would you do this just because of the potential of being sprayed?

I live on five acres with a number of skunks scattered around the property. I have several dogs, several cats and several horses and only one dog (a slightly dense one who hasn’t figured things out yet) ever gets sprayed and that only happens because she chases them.

I’ve come upon skunks on my property any number of times and I just back quietly away when I see them. I’ve never been sprayed.

They are useful creatures, so, again, why kill them?

If you notice six posts before yours I told kknick about a method I had read about. It is up to him what method to use.

You are right about skunks being useful but you have to keep in mind they are one of the most notarious of the rabies carriers.

You have to be careful not to let them over populate an area they will get bolder and bolder. yYou might have them move in with you.
