Bald eagles, which are what nested in the reserve next to our neighborhood, can weigh up to 14 pounds. I don’t think a cat would be a problem.

One winter there was in my back yard a snow imprint of a feathered wingspan where a set of rabbit tracks ended. Prsumably a decent sized owl or something took one of those pesky wabbits.
I have herded them out of my yard waving a seven-foot piece of bamboo cane, just waving it fast enough to make swishing noises. However, they are so stupid that it took several back-and-forths across the yard before they figured out the gate was open and that was the way back to the pond.
I won’t really try to mess with a couple with chicks, I suspect they are less tolerant.
That’s why they make coyote/raptor dog vests!

100% that was a coyote. We had rumors of a “cat killer” mutilating outdoor cats here in Olympia in 2018 and investigators eventually ruled every single one of them the result of predators.

I found it. Apparently there is a parody news Instagram channel, Fake News Network, that took the arrest video from three incident in Canton and labeled it as a Haitian woman in Springfield.
I have not found out who is behind this Instagram channel or their motives.
Birds might be light in weight but their flight muscles have a lot of strength, if they hit you with their wings it’s going to hurt. And they bite, that’s gonna hurt, too.
Swans are capable of breaking human bones. They’re bigger and stronger than geese.
TMZ has tracked down the story behind the photo of the guy carrying two geese.
1 they were roadkill.
2 there is nothing wrong in Ohio law in picking up roadkill geese; no permit required.
3 there is no evidence that the guy was planning on eating them.
4 the guy was not a Haitian immigrant
5 it didn’t happen in Springfield, but in Columbus, 40 miles away from Springfield. .
In fact it qualifies you for a cabinet post.
I do hope that the Simpsons open their season with a show that riffs on this entire sorry episode. Harry Shearer has already shown the way.

The guy tried to turn right from the left lane, evidently not noticing the other vehicle in his blind spot.
Fortunately, native-born Americans never have minor traffic accidents. (Sarcasm, if that wasn’t obvious.)
And what does it matter that the car that was hit contained the driver’s seven-year-old autistic daughter? Were there signs and lights all over the car that he failed to see?
