Sprite! (Or, if you, prefer 7-Up!)

I looked up Un-deer. That is highly disturbing, I just want you to know, Burpo.

I have creepy dreams managed for awhile. TYVM.
:scream:

I like it too, but I’m surprised I don’t remember this promo from 1967.

Canada Dry had a competing grapefruit soda called “Wink” around the same time. I can still sing the jingle: Wink, the sassy one, from Canada Dry.

Wink popped up at my local liquor store recently, only now it’s got vodka added, and checks in at 5% abv. I tried a can. It tastes the same as when I was a kid.

I just had a can of Sprite Zero Sugar, and I must say that the Coca Cola company really has the knack for artificial sweeteners. Just like Coke Zero, it contains a mix of aspartame and acesulfame-potassium, and to me, it’s indistinguishable from the sugared beverage, except 0 sugar, 0 fat, and 0 calories. Similar to how Coke Zero tastes just like Coke Classic to me. But so many other artificially sweetened beverages have odd artificial aftertastes.

I personally still taste the artificial sweetener taste, but I agree there’s no weird aftertaste or anything, and it is pretty close.

Never saw that either; really cool! That and La Bamba would make an interesting medley.

I never noticed how much Holder sounds like James Earl Jones.

From one of those Kermit Schaefer blooper records:

“… so look for the big 7 and U P after.”

Another point in favour of Sprite over Coke is that it contains no phosphoric acid (it contains citric acid and carbolic acid from the carbonation). Most dark colas contain phosphoric acid, which poses health concerns in sufficient quantity, notably affecting tooth enamel, bone density (due to affecting the calcium-phosphorus balance) and puts stress on the kidneys.

The health effects are probably very minor unless one consumes gallons of the stuff daily, but I’m sold on Sprite Zero as generally a tastier and more refreshing soft drink than Coke Zero and have largely switched to it. Last time I was shopping I picked up a case of Sprite Zero and just a six-pack of Coke Zero minis (little baby 222 ml cans – 7.5 oz) – just the right size to have with a sandwich.
