I love this stuff. It has become my soda of choice. But fair warning: don’t let it get warm! I picked one up this morning on my way to work, and was almost late for a meeting, so I left it on my desk.
I got back from the meeting (an hour later) and without thinking, popped the cap on my delicious, refreshing Sprite Zero.
FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
It was like a geyser. I am now wearing approximately 33% of the Sprite Zero that formerly inhabited the bottle.
I have only myself to blame. I know Sprite Zero behaves this way. And yet, here I sit, smelling of Lymon ™ and sitting in a puddle of formerly hypercarbonated soda.
Sprite Zero is indeed great stuff. I think it is hands-down the best tasting diet soda available anywhere. Definitely my go-to choice for a caffeine free carbonated sparkly treat.
Oh and ummm… a big FU to Sprite Zero for having that bland clear color. They should dye it green!
I had no idea Sprite Zero existed. I usually don’t drink diet sodas unless non-diet sodas are not available. But Diet Sprite was always my favorite. Is Sprite Zero significantly better than Diet Sprite?
Sprite Zero is great, but I have to open it and let it decarbonate a bit before I can drink it. Too fizzy! I didn’t know that it would geyser on you if you opened it warm though. Thanks for the warning.
Whoa, this is weird – I too have recently become addicted to Sprite Zero. What the hell is in this stuff? Ever since giving up caffeine I’ve been searching for a yummy soda alternative to Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet A&W Cream, and Diet Sunkist; as a result, Sprite Zero’s definitely become my drink of choice. (Other than water, of course, but sometimes I just want some ice-cold, sweet-tasting fizz.)
I’ll hijack this with a simultaneous pitting of the other brands I mentioned, which are freakin’ awesome but don’t appear to come with a caffeine-free versions.
(Gosh this is awfully tame for the Pit, though, isn’t it?)
While those sodas are all good, the best diet sodas are those from DIET RITE All their flavors are excellent.
Best fucking cola I’ve ever had, diet or not! Which is ironic because back in the 70’s before all the newer sweeteners came along, Diet Rite was referred to as Diet Tripe because it was so god damned awful! Fuck saccharin!
I’ve become addicted to Coke zero, after my parents explained the whole “susceptibility to diabetes” thing. I would’ve become addicted to Sprite Zero, were it not for the fact that the stores around here (middle of nowhere, Japan) only stock the 500ml bottles, and that only two or three times a year…
Well, it’s done it before. In particular, it’s done it to me twice while playing disc golf. I have my handy little disc bag with my handy little bottle holder on the side. Disc golf is not a sport in which a whole lot of jostling occurs to the bottle, yet I have had at least two Sprite Zeros go completely ballistic in the warm weather.
And now that I think about it, the heat was going like a jet engine in here this morning…
I’ve become enamored of frozen Diet Rite Tangerine treats. I hate straight up artificial orange drink but put this stuff in the freezer and it’s fantastic! I love Sprite Zero but I can’t drink diet drinks with aspartame in them anymore, so I’ve switched to Diet Rite, Pepsi One, Diet Hansen’s Root Beer and Diet Dr Jones because they all use Splenda instead of aspartame.
We have dozens of cans of sprite zero just laying around for weeks at a time before we drink them, its never behaved this way. I think someone pulled a prank on you.
I was at a Sonics game a few years ago and one of the radio stations were having a basketball shooting contest. I won a twelve pack of Sprite(regular ftr) autographed by Brent Barry. Now the smart thing to do would have been to take the cans out and just keep the box, but no. While cleaning my room, I put the whole thing up on the shelf at the top of my closet. Skip to an especially hot day this summer, I’m sitting in my room minding my own when all of a sudden it sounded like New Years. All the cans busted open at the same time and there was a Spitefalls spilling all over.
