Recently I got involved with the local GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network) chapter in Cincinnati as the PR Chairperson. As part of that, I’m writing a column in a smallish GLBT newspaper. My first article hit newsstands this week! Part of me is just giggly at seeing my words out there for all those people to read!! Anyway, the web version is here
Squeeeeeee

Terrific article–I wish such things had existed when I was in school!
Good job – impassioned yet restrained – strikes just the right tone for what you’re trying to accomplish.
Don’t forget the value of the “hook” – the personal anecdote (you or another’s story) – early in future articles to make the point clear what you’re doing and why.
Kudos! Make it fly, Priam – you’re off to a great start!
Well written, and well done!
I hope your column turns out well in the future. Congratulations.
What sort of circulation does this paper have? Is it something you would buy at a newsstands? How did you come to be one of their contributors?
Thanks all for the congrats. I’m just thrilled right now
Its very local to the Cincinnati GLBT community, and its free to pick up in certain bars, restaurants, clubs…
I got contributor status because GLSEN had been running a column a few years back which went defunct when the writer moved on, so I got the chance to ressurect it as part of my PR duties. Right now I’m working on the second article…
Suspense!
Seriously, that’s cool. Along with all the usual impressiveness of being published, you have the distinction of doing something that will fight ignorance, and help people out. Way to go, and good luck with it.
Congrats, Priam!
I’m sure I’m not the only one who opened this expecting something related to this though, am I?
