SR71 Photos, Castle Air Museum, Atwater, CA

As promised in my IMHO thread here is the photos I took of the SR71 and other planes at Castle Air Museum, not all that I took just a selection. Despite it being entirely awesome, the SR71 is actually not that photogenic compared to the other planes there. I found the surface details and contours more interesting on the others from a photographers point of view.

For other photography geeks: Shot on Canon 7D with Canon EFS 17-55mm, f2.8 and Sigma 8-16mm f4.5. (yes 8mm, ultrawide flat lens) 3x CR2 raw files HDR, merged in Photoshop.

Feedback welcome!

Cool pix. Thanks. You don’t get to see a B-45 every day.

Great photos! I’m gonna pass the link along to my Mom’s husband; he’s a retired Air Force pilot.

Yeah the B-45 was very photogenic in it’s retro-future lines. I’ll dig up the others I have of it and post them later.

Awww, the one bomber has kinesio tape on the nose; it must have an injury.

Cool pics! I’ve only had the opportunity to see a SR-71 inside, at Udvar-Hazy.
