This is unreal to me. Twenty students injured, apparently by another student.
Wow. Nice area.
Anybody can shoot a place up. This kid is a goddamn over-achiever! What The Fuck?
What a shame You really gotta be an upset kid, running around like a whirling dirvish to get 20 victims before being stopped. From the pics I saw he didn’t look that big (he was sitting in a cop car, tho).
It’s more difficult than you would think to take a knife away from someone. More difficult than a gun, in some ways.
Fortunately it wasnt an assault knife…or there might have been dozens more.
I remember taking a knife to school in 4th grade so that we could play mumbley-peg at lunch time. Nobody ever got hurt. Now there is zero tolerance for weapons, and kids get stabbed.
The National Knife Association would like to have a word with you.
Well, with the number of students injured it appears to be a high capacity, semi-automatic knife. No knife should be able to stab more than 7 times.
The kid was smart. He brought a second knife so nobody could stop him while he was reloading.
Kid was pissed.
This is what happens when you make rules against knives in school - you only take away knives from the kids who follow the rules so it’s like cutting fish in a barrel.
Plenty of kids got stabbed back then.
I got stabbed with a pencil when I was in eighth grade, they should have outlawed pencils. (Followup on the story the other day of a 7th grader who was suspended from school and ordered to undergo psychological interviews, blood tests and urine tests because he was twirling his pencil in class).
I can’t even tell who thinks they’re scoring points for what side of the gun control debate.
It’s a slippery slope. Next thing you know, they won’t even let us carry nail clippers onto planes anymore.
Oh…wait.
What is it with some of you guys and these tragic stabbings/shootings? Have you become so inured to attacks like this that your only reflex is gun control jokes?
This is a horrible, horrible tragedy. I understand black humor. I understand joking in the face of grim reality when it’s happening to YOU. I don’t get the armchair internet expressions of mock outrage over something like this, particularly with the liberal sprinkling of gun jokes.
Why?
You weren’t around to hear the jokes after the Shuttle Challenger blew up, were you?
And that was pre-Internet, when people had to be face-to-face to tell sick jokes.
I was, but…I don’t know, I guess the occupational hazards of riding on top of a gigantic roman candle seem to fall in line with that kind of humor, as tragic as it was at the time. Kids dying like this…just so senseless. Maybe it’s because I have sons of my own and I can’t possibly imagine the heartbreak of something happening like this to them, at least before they even have a shot at adulthood.
There is just something … funny … about it being a stabbing rather than a shooting. I must admit that I myself reacted strangely to it. It’s hard to put my finger on exactly why.
And, nobody died!
