stabilized orthosilicic acid - snake oil?

My Mom has provided me with “Biosil”, which is stabilized orthosilicic acid or “biologically active silicon”. It’s suppolsed to be good for strengthening bones, joints, hair, and nails. Sort of like glucosamine (which I don’t take because it gives me muscle cramps).

I can’t find anything on google that isn’t either a promotion or a locked summary of a journal article in French. Does anyone know if this has any real joint relief documentation? The flyer that came with it referenced studies done on cells in vitro, studies done on chicks, and diet deficiency studies. I’m guessing that if they had a better study to reference, they’d have done it, but I thought I’d ask anyway.

The stuff is taken as drops added to juice and tastes bad. Thanks ahead of time and feel free to make peripherally pertinent comments if you don’t have an exact answer. Thanks ahead of time. My knees thank you, too.

Ineresting reading - I don’t know about the “stabilized” part.
