Staff credits cut from Wii port of Okami

So, this Ars Technica article points out that the staff credits at the end of Okami were cut from the Wii port. The credits were fully present in the original PS2 version.

What I would like to know is, what sort of legal recourse might the authors have in this sort of situation?

Assuming they didn’t sign over all rights for the property to Capcom, that is, come to think of it. I know that stuff I create at work for my company becomes the company’s property under the terms of the paperwork I signed when I hired on, but this is still pretty damn sucky. :frowning:

Holy cow. As a game developer, that would piss me off. My favorite reward for working 2-3 years on a game is seeing my name in lights.

Legally, they likely have no legal recourse as Capcom owns all of the rights to Okami and any work to create the Wii port was done by Ready At Dawn. I don’t believe a single former employee of Clover was involved at all.

Yep, I noted that in the OP. Even though they don’t have much legal recourse, it’s still sucky. :frowning:
