Standards slipping?

I heard from a friend that the British Government is closing its version of the Bureau of Standards. The thing is, that they have been selling off all the antique standard things, like the standard Nine Yard Bolt, measured by King Henry, and the standard grain. So, you can buy one of the standards for your own collection. The guy who told me about this said he knew a guy who was there when they sold the official cherry sucker. It was over a hundred years old, and was the official standard for cherry flavored candy.

You are joking…right?

Nope. Not in the least, kknick.

Yer pal,
Satan

You need someplace to practice your delivery, and this is a “safe” place to do that, since no one here believes it anyway, right?

Right?

No, I remember seeing a news item about that cherry sucker. The winning bid came from a candy company in France, but I forget the name. They were going to perform a chemical analysis on it and then store it in a vault. It was mainly the publicity value that interested them.

Do you guys have to practice being this evil, or does it just come naturally? I didn’t realize we were promoting ignorance now.

Britain has standards??

If you’re going to start an UL, at least make part of it believable!

Before I got to the part about the cherry candy, I completely bit on this :o

The standard nine-yard bolt?

You mean we can actually get the whole nine yards?

Whew! For a while there I thought the entire King Henry bit had slipped through the cracks! I hate it when that happens.

What do I need with a Bureau of Standards ?
Like I don’t have enough closets full of junk allready.

Does the Bureau of Standards come with a matching endtable, or do you have to buy the bedroom set piecemeal?
