He had a connection with dilithium on a very powerful level because he was born on a planetoid that was pure dilithium.
It was still stupid, though.

Trekkers, if you please.
Unmentioned is that the same raw material is used for real apples.
True. The process for converting shit to real apples is just slower, and can introduce variance in the final product.
Fourth.
Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, Nemesis. Though Generations was a baton-passing movie, it did feature TNG crew, And it continued the odd-numbered movie tradition of destroying Enterprises needlessly.
Not that anyone cares…but I a lifelong trekker gave up and never watched Nemesis, and I have no plans to ever do so. I only watch proven good shows, like Lower Decks, and not Disco. Even though I read about the stupidity of The Burn, this sentence
Means nothing, as I have no idea who or what they are. (yes I could look it up, no, I won’t)
I mean, apples are mainly made of air and water, like all plants. The shit just adds some trace elements, for seasoning.
Discovery went downhill the moment Jason Isaacs left.
I had no problem with the new setting in the 32nd Century, the reason I stopped watching Discovery was the endless speeches the writers compelled the characters to give. The turning point was when some producer figured out that they could save 5 minutes of expensive CGI just by writing a five page monologue.
facepalm I clearly forgot one. FWIW, I never watched either Insurrection nor Nemesis.
You didn’t miss much.
I like Insurrection more than any of the other movies since I’m not a fan of the zombie horror or the cringey Borg queen of First Contact. The most common complaint I hear about Insurrection is that it is too much like an episode (specifically “Homeward” from season 7) but that’s not an inherently bad thing. There is some cringe humor in it though, mostly courtesy of Data.
Nemesis was directed by a guy who had never seen any Star Trek and had no idea what it was. This is evident in the movie. Good special effects though.
The problem is it’s basically a 45-ish minute episode stretched out to almost 2 hours. It’s boring.
So like Star Trek: The Motion Picture?
At least TMP is pretty to look at.
Did you know that if you go out to the lobby when Scotty starts his Enterprise flyby, you can pee, buy popcorn and a pop and still make it back before they dock?
Right, it’s not that it’s like some specific episode that they already made. It’s that it’s like an episode, in general. Saving one specific planet from some of their former inhabitants who want to exploit a peculiar quirk of that planet is the stuff that episodes are made of. Saving the Earth, or Starfleet, or the Galaxy, is what you want from a movie.
I didn’t remember that TNG used the theme from TMP as their own theme.
Also, I’m watching the new season of SNW and it makes me realize just how bad James Doohan’s Scottish accent was. The new Scotty has a much better accent.
The new actor is, in fact, Scottish, which would be why.
Scotty’s not going to be born for over 200 years, who knows how the Scots will sound by then? After all 80 years later than that the French will have developed a rather nice RP accent.
