Star Trek TOS "Menagerie" coming to a theatre near you!

Yeoman Colt on the big screen!
This makes me feel an emotion similar to what you humans call “happiness.”

:dubious:

But that was one of the more suckarific episodes! Why on Earth would anybody want to see it?

Because it incorporates scenes from the original Pilot. With Majel as Number One, Spock smiling, and a super hot Colt with strong female drives!

I got my ticket!

Me too!
(One night only. Better get yours now.)

The closest theatre to me that’s showing it is seventy miles away in Knoxville so I won’t be seeing it. Ah, well.

Even with the appearance of Yeoman Colt I too must ask the question. No, I don’t mean what does God need with a starship. Why would anyone want to see this on the big screen? It isn’t even a great episode.

Marc

While The Menagerie was lame, the original pilot ( The Cage ) holds a powerful sentimentality for old time Trekkers like me and Zebra. And the pilot’s footage is used in the lame episode.

So, seeing it remastered and on the big screen as a special event is attractive to me as an event, not so much for the content of the episode.

But, I also enjoy the content of the original pilot. It’s just different enough from the series (yeay, Pike!) to be very interesting.

I saw it (on a fairly big screen) in black and white along with a lecture by the Great Bird of the Galaxy. Still not one of my favorites. I liked the blooper reel a lot more.

At least they’re not remaking it with Colin Farrell as Pike and Angelina Jolie as Number 1.

Is this going to be advertises as the pilot episode?

It’s 40 miles to the nearest theater for me. Too far for something that’ll be on DVD the next week. Off to Netflix!

When I was a boy, I drove close to 100 miles round trip to see Wrath of Kahn.

Then’s 1982 miles! Adjusted for inflation that’s over 300 in today’s miles!

Beep.

I was five months old, then. Man, you’re old.

Star Trek II - The Wrath Of Khan (SPOILERS!!)

When *Wrath of Khan * came out, I was your parents’ college Resident Assistant. Now who’s old, ya little pischer?

My mom was almost thirty when she had me and my dad is five years older than her so I’m assuming you’d’ve not been their RA even had they attended college.

The funny thing is, writing this just made me realize I’m about the same age as my dad when they got married and now I feel . . . not old, but definitely not young.

Hey, Trek Dopers,

I’ll be offline for a while after tomorrow. Move, etc…

Keep nitpicking the difference being Trekkers and Trekkies for me.
Till the next time we meet, Peace. And long life.*

*the acceptable alternative to “Live long and prosper,” as any true Trekker knows. :dubious:

Tell Mother, “I feel fine.”

I was hoping theyd done a remake with an expanded role for the Orion slave girl. But that’s just me.
