So, does this mean they re-mastered both the “updated special FX” episodes AND the original unaltered versions? Or did they skip the re-mastering on the unaltered series? In other words; I want to watch the episodes in order, as they originally aired in the 60’s, re-mastered. Can I easily do this? Are the episodes listed on the discs? Thanks so much for your reply. I’ve been online for about 3 hours looking for the answers.
“High definition” anything is overrated. Watched Olympic figure skating on an early HD TV and I could see razor stubble Down There. And the first ballet I watched IRL had the music turned down so far I could hear the thumps when the ballerinas landed.
But anything that increased the resolution of Sherry Jackson can’t be all bad, though I was an Angela Cartwright fan back in the day. Y’see, we are about the same age…
Oh, we were talking about Star Trek and not Make Room for Daddy? In that case, cleaning up the prints and redoing the effects worked surprisingly well.
I just wanted to say that anyone who has a problem with the redone Trek episodes really is a nut There were a few instances where they went a bit overboard, but for the most part it felt like repairing mistakes. Sometimes the effects were baffling as they did not match what characters were describing even, so to fix that was an improvement. I could not find one instance where it actually changed the plot or characterization(Han shot first!) and for the record I HATE every CGI insert done into Star Wars.
Netflix has this. I’ve been watching them with my 11 year old for a few months now to bring her up to speed. We’ve been watching them in order originally shown. She’s getting a real kick out of them. Though she does quote Galaxy Quest fairly often.
