I’m terrified to click on any Star Wars links. I’m sure it’s been leaked somewhere already
At least i have tickets for the 20th.
My daughter’s just gone to a marathon of all three prequels, but I’ll be waiting till between Christmas and New Year.
I’m confused - Variety, Wikipedia, and several other sources say the world premiere was on Monday 16th in LA. I think last night was just the European premiere.
I’m not sure if TROS will count as a British film or not. It makes a difference for tax purposes, and also for awards purposes (BAFTAs) so there are reasons for it to call itself British if it can. Wikipedia currently lists TROS as American, but they could be wrong because they also list Jedi as American only, and that was definitely officially a co-production. Apparently the British Film Institute considers a film British if:
I don’t know if TROS passes the test, because although a lot (a majority?) of the cast are British, and it was filmed mostly in the UK, the senior crew members (director etc) weren’t British. Still, the cast and location are pretty major factors, and most of the non-senior crew members were probably British, so it might well count.

Since this thread is about an opening in a very limited market, where most of our membership wouldn’t yet have had a chance to see it, let’s keep it spoiler-free. If any members who have seen the movie want to discuss spoilers, please start a new (clearly-marked) thread for doing so. That includes any few who do happen to have seen it already, though obviously you won’t get much activity in the thread yet if you start it now.
EDIT: Spoilers thread.
Same. I don’t get why all the internet fanboys were so upset. The Last Jedi was great!
