I never understand these sorts of responses. Do you only have three grades of movies in your mind: Complete trash, “Macbeth or Othello”, and then everything else – and anything in the “everything else” category is of equal value? Because I think most people have a wider spectrum than that and were hoping for a movie a bit further up that band of quality.

SW movies should be fun, and all 11 of them were fun to me. Some were better than others. I know this is wacky but I think Episodes 1-3 were OK , not great but not as bad as most people say. Just my 2 cents.
If I want Shakespeare I will go see one of his plays or movies based on them. Just like if I want to hear classical music I will go see the symphony. And if I want to see rock I will go see Weezer.
Weezer, or Nickelback, or the Rolling Stones. Rock is rock, geez.
Some rock is very good(10,000 Maniacs) , some is great(The Who) , some is OK(Tom Petty) and some is not good (Warren Zevon). But it’s all rock.

Solo and Rogue One are the other 2. Must not be a big fan if you didn’t know there are 11.

I figure my grandkids will be watching SW #30 . There are 25 James Bond movies and there is no end in sight. (one is coming out this year)
And if I want to see a Star Wars movie, I go see a Star Wars movie. This was a poor quality Star Wars movie, not in comparison to Shakespeare, but in comparison to other Star Wars movies.
How about a petition to remake episodes 5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,Solo, Rogue One? It worked so well for the remake of GOT season 8. When is that due out?

The good news is they are remaking GOT season 8. The bad news is the writer,director,producer,editor, sound guy, light guy, accountant and cook are going to be George Lucas.

I went and resaw ROS last night. I saw it opening weekend and thought the first hour was trash and then I was able to get into it. This time the first hour didn’t bother me as much. I still am bummed by the overall trilogy’s arch but now I’ve moved ROS up to a solid meh. Its fun as long you don’t spend any time thinking about it. I saw the new Bad Boys immediately after and it is a better movie in almost every way.

I’ve only been here for a little over three years, so I ran across the posts more recently–and your reactions in that thread were really memorable. But I remember stuff associated with names and didn’t like the prequel trilogy, so you must have some really strong views on my personal life!
