The Gua’ould have racial memory (born with the memories of their ancestors), which are encoded in protein. Therefore, a host absorbs theses memories from the parasite.
A Harsesis happens when two hosts knock boots and conceive. The baby is born with all the racial memories of the parasites inhabiting the parental hosts. To the Gua’ould, the child is an abomination.
Sure. A Harsesis child is one born to two goa’uld parents, or rather, host parents.
-=SPOILERS=-
The story of the one in the main storyline is that of the son of Apophis and Sha’re(or to be more exact, her goa’uld Amaunet). While she was pregnant, Amaunet slept, so that the baby could be born (something like that, it wasn’t made clear). She went back to Abydos to be with her family. Daniel Jackson and Teal’c went there to help her when the baby was being born. He was born, and Amaunet comes back to life inside Sha’re. Teal’c dons a Horus Guard uniform and takes the baby and tells Amaunet that Heru’ur is taking the baby (fooling her). When Apophis comes to get her and the baby, she tells him that Heru’ur stole the baby. Teal’c gives the baby to one of the abydonians who give it to someone that Sha’re told them to. Apparently the baby ends up in Kheb, which is somewhat of a Goa’uld holy land. Later on, SG1 goes to Kheb, some stuff happens and Oma Desala, one of the Ancients/Ascended takes the baby with her.
… if you want me to keep going, lemme know because I’ll stop here, my fingers are tired.
if you wish to carry on, please do. Its all ringing a bell, but you might as well continue just in case i missed something
Well I did kinda forget the most important part, that Vunderbob noted, that they have all the memories of the Goa’uld in em too.
So lets see, where were we:
Oh yea, so suddenly the kid shows up in a cloud of dust at some random planet, says he’s the Harsesis, his name is Shifu. He touches Daniel and gives him the knowledge of the Goa’uld. Daniel uses it to conquer the world, but then wakes up, ahving it all been a dream. He then understands that having that is a terrible burden and all that jazz, and they give up on trying to get the knowledge from Shifu. That’s… all I remember.
fantastic, thanks for the help ladies and gents
FWIW, the temple on Kheb is modeled after the Shaolin Buddhist temples in China, and ‘Shifu’ is a slight corruption of ‘sifu’, which means teacher in Chinese, and is the title Kung Fu practitioners use to address their masters. The Japanese equivalent is ‘Sensei’…
Seems the SG:SG-1 writers are trying to work in all of the old civilizations into the storyline in some manner.

Was Apophis going to kill his own baby?
-=SPOILERS=-
How does this all tie in to the episode I saw where before Teal’c has to kill Sha’re/Amaunet she says the baby is where they will never find it? Didn’t they know the baby was safe? Aren’t they the ones that tricked her into believing her baby was gone?
And why couldn’t they put Sha’re in a Tocra sarcophogus (sp) like one of Daniel’s visions?
and what was the situation surrounding Daniels leaving SG1 for a season then coming back?
Can I tack on a few of my own Stargate SG-1 questions?
[SPOILERS for the last few seasons may be involved]
Not to mention Oma Desala = mother nature
1: He was?
2: Oma Desala was protecting herself and her temple from people using violence against her and it (respectively). Remember, she asked them to put down their weapons, and SG-1 did too? Daniel uses his powers to meddle in the affairs of humans and actually takes a side, etc.
3: Very rarely, but they do.
When he was not cured of the disease everyone got from the Ancient woman found in Antarctica, he (reluctantly) agreed to be host to a Tok’ra spy or something temporarily until he was healed and a willing host could be found (didn’t go down quite that way in the end of course)…
I think the difference may be that Sam’s Tokra died inside her, while the one that was in O’neil left his body voluntaraly. Something about the symbiot leaving traces of something in Sam’s body after it died.
