Stars in small roles , older movies or TV, that surprise you.

I have Steven Segal’s “On Deadly Ground” on in the background and I heard a familiar voice. It was Billy Bob Thorten playing one of the mercenary’s sent to hunt Segal.

I always get a kick out of seeing major stars in early roles on old TV shows and older movies.

Which ones have surprised you when you realized “Hey!! That’s …”

I have the old TV Kung Fu series on DVD and there are several there.

Don Johnson plays a young Indian boy out for revenge.
Jodie Foster plays a little girl who learns about lying.

Oh, and the head of the mercs in Segals movie. Our favorite drill Sargent R.Lee Emery.

The head of the Oil company was Michael Caine. A real disappointment. I know you work all the time Michael but a Segal movie, really?

There was a thread quite recently about Judgment at Nuremburg, probably because it was on TCM, and Himself and I had watched it because my parents had a problem with their DVR and asked me to get it through Netflix so they could see the rest and blah blah stupid story. Anyway.

Judy Garland is amazing but almost unrecognizable in an important but not star role.

And William Shatner is smarming it up hilariously on the sidelines.

Michael Caine surprises you? Michael Caine would play a role at my niece’s birthday party if I paid hiim for it. I don’t mind that - I quite respect him for it. He’s a working actor, emphasis on “working”. See: famous quote, blah blah, Jaws 3.
