I can’t seem to figure out this problem.
mean=110 std=25 (iq scores for men 20-34)
What iq scores fall in thee lowest 25% of the distribution?
I know I am solving for x in the equation: x=mean+z(std)
So I must need the z score and looking at the table is confusing because 25% gives a z score of -.67 but that doesn’t make sense (gives iq score of 93.25). The z score NEEDS to be -1.6 so that the equation can give an answer of 70 (iq score). -1.6 has a % of of .0548 thoug…WHAT???
I feel stupid for asking, but I also think spending hours to figure it out myself is quite stupid too since I could spend that time more wisely.
Thanks guys…
