So will the feared “economic Balkanization” now start to happen?
Will Florida pass a law not allowing sale of products produced by companies that cover transgender care? Texas not allow sale of products produced by companies with abortion coverage? New York disallow sales of products unless workers were paid a specific minimum wage?
Or will that fear turn out to have been completely unfounded?
At this point it’s pick 'em. I’ll wager that a couple of red states will try to make a silly political point which will cause amazing hardship in their state. They will then quietly modify the law or repeal it entirely in the middle of the night when their voters rebel. Then the backers of the law can feel like martyrs, which is their wont.
As a resident of California I am looking forward to these states shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly as they rush to prove they are more “anti-woke” than thou.
