A while ago i was driving merrily along my way when there was a pretty significant thump at the front of the car as if something (like a bird or something - it was a big thump) had struck the windscreen.
Nothing was apparent and indeed later inspection revealed no damage or marking at all.
Immediately after this phantom thump, the whole car seemed to become charged with static. There was a definite feeling in the air and we were aware of our hair standing up slightly.
What could have caused this phenomenon? Could the thump have been related or was it likely just coincident?
