Steam Injected Car

Okay, it’s not an entirely steam powered car as discussed in this thread. However, this is supposed to be a car which is powered by either gasoline or diesel and has steam injected into the cylinders in order to boost fuel economy and lower emissions. Similar tricks have been used before, but AFAIK, this is the first time someone’s applied it to a car.

It will be interesting to see if anyone bites.

I just saw a blurb in a British classic car magazine about a guy in Pomona who built a steam engine for his car out od a VW engine.

Interesting. Is that the same theory behind water injection in some WW2 aircraft?

I think I know of who you’re talking about, and he used to have a website up detailing how he did it, but I can’t seem to find it at the moment. Oh, wait! Perhaps this is it. (there’s another one out there that I’m still looking for)
bernse, I think it’s similar. The water injection system used during WWII, AFAIK was only used during take off, whereas this looks to be used all the time.
