So, as I was clicking through steam trying to purchase a game, it asked for my age. I clicked “submit” without changing the date of birth which was January 1 2011. Now it’s telling me I can’t view certain games because of my age. I closed Steam and reopened it. It’s still telling me I can’t view certain games.
Am I basically fucked? Will it think for several years that I’m a baby with prodigious computer skills? If I have to change accounts, that’s more than 50 dollars in games I’m losing.
You could open steam, go to the menu and select HELP/STEAM SUPPORT and see if there’s something there to help. It takes you to a web-page wherein it asks a series of questions. I don’t know if it takes you to a live rep or email support eventually. Oddly enough, despite having used Steam since it came out, I’ve never had a problem, so I don’t know much about fixing them.
Here’s something I found in teh googles:
It says to clear your cookies for Steampowered.com, or close Steam, then restart it. I never gave it a thought that Steam might use cookies. Not at all sure it does, but that’s what they say to do in the thread I posted above, FWIW.
