I have Win 7 (bought FO3 when I had Vista) and haven’t had any problem. A useless purchase would be something that will not work with Win 7, like the original Dirt.
Thanks, Lute. I’ve been burned (see: Mass Effect 2) by non-Win7-loving games and was afraid to make another mistake.
Now I’m getting tempted by Assassin’s Creed. I’ve always been curious about it, and now they have a bundle with the Director’s Cut edition, AC II Deluxe, and a crazy amount of DLC for $50. But it might be smarter for me to just go for AC1 and AC2 separately, which are $27 together. Or should I skip 1 and go for 2 to save even more money? Recommendations?
I haven’t had a real Win7 issue but it supposedly doesn’t play nice with quad core processors. I was getting game freezes that required me to close the program va the task manager. A few tweaks made it work fine for me though.

This final day is a snoozer so, barring some amazing flash sale, here’s what I got…

I’d also like to know if anyone has this game and how they liked it; it looks almost good enough to make me think about booting up in Windows.

Dear Esther
Fable III Collection
Dungeons of Dredmor + DLC

Well I don’t have much time or cash for games, but throw be BioShock for $4.99 and I’ll bite.
Jophiel, I really like all of Paradox’s games, but I wanted to tell you that you should try to pick up the Heir to The Throne expansion to Europa Universalis III. It makes a good game great.
I picked up:
ARMA II + Op. Arrowhead (for Day Z)
Batman: Arkham City
Torchlight
Universe Sandbox
Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box
Assasins Creed Pack
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
That has to be the most I’ve ever bought in Steam sale.
Also got a copy of *Kerbal Space Program *to mess about with.
I bought AC1 and 2 during the last sale. Played AC1 for a bit, lost interest, haven’t returned. I’ve heard AC1 is kinda dull and AC2 is a lot better though.
Also, the control scheme is absolutely horrid on a keyboard+mouse. Definitely recommend a gamepad if you have one.
Everyone I’ve heard with an opinion on it says to skip AC1. You’d be surprised a sequel as ever made for as negatively as people respond to AC1 these days but I guess the rest made it look worse in retrospect.
I’ve never played any of them, but it was quite decently received as far as I know. Didn’t it rely on a preponderance of “gotta catch 'em all” flag quests and maybe repetitiveness. And now the series is a pseudo-sequel cash-generating monster.
I liked AC1. Mind you, I haven’t played any subsequent titles, so I don’t know how it stacks up in comparison. The combat isn’t very engaging, but the parkour part of the game is fun.
If anyone is still awake, the Steam sale on Saints Row 3 has all the DLC included for $13.29. Since the regular sale on SR3 is $12.49, that has to be a glitch and I’d grab it now.
Bioshock 2 is now 4.99.
I got Just Cause 2 and “legalized” on Portal 2 an Max Payne 3
I thought for sure there’d be a sale of all the best sellers on the last day, but I guess not. Of these three:
Saints Row
Fallout
Splinter Cell
Which one should I spend my money on?
(Need answer fast!)
I think today - this upcoming day - is the last day that’ll have the best sellers. So you can wait to see what pops up.
